What comes out
A single Short opens as a readable transcript page with copy and download buttons in every format. A channel link produces a ZIP — one file per video, named by date and title, with manifests recording anything that had no captions.
How it works
Shorts are ordinary videos underneath, and most carry auto-generated captions. The tool reads the caption track and formats it like any other transcript. For channels, the uploads list includes Shorts interleaved with long-form, newest first — or use the UUSH playlist trick below to grab only the Shorts.
Honest limitations
Some Shorts — especially music-only ones — have no caption track at all, and those honestly report "no captions." Bulk limits are the same as everywhere on the site: 500 videos per job with continuation, 2,000 new videos per person per day, cached content unmetered.
Common questions
How do I get ONLY a channel's Shorts?
Take the channel's uploads playlist ID — UU followed by the channel ID minus its UC prefix — and change the prefix to UUSH. Paste youtube.com/playlist?list=UUSH… and the job covers only Shorts. (UULF is the long-form-only twin.) These are YouTube's own derived playlists; reliable today, though not officially documented.
Which formats can I pick?
TXT (clean, timestamped, or both-in-one), SRT and VTT subtitles, Markdown for Obsidian and Notion, or timed JSON for pipelines.
Do I need an account?
No account, no email, no payment. The FAQ lists every limit in plain numbers.
